Panama City Beach – New Wine Bar Opens

September 13, 2008 · 6 Comments

PANAMA CITY BEACH — We are always looking for new places for our Panama City Beach Condo guests to go while visiting the area.  The Purple Grape Wine Bar opened in August on Thomas Drive across the street from Naval Support Base in the Coastal Palms Village development by Yvette Pavone-Seldenright and her husband, Tom Seldenright.  With more than 200 domestic and imported wines, the 1,400-square-foot establishment’s interior includes purple walls, marble tabletops, zebrawood floors and oil paintings from Leesburg’s Art by P.J.  The Seldenrights also plan for an outdoor deck behind the Bar which will seat up to 30 people and allow for cigar smokers that should be completed by October.

Pavone-Seldenright said most visitors to The Purple Grape were surprised they could find a wine bar like it in the area, with most noting they would have to go to Destin or somewhere along Walton County 30A to find something similar.  Yvette wants the bar to appeal to people who are new to wines, with a wine list that ranged from moderately priced to high-end.  The Purple Grape also carries hard-to-find wines such as Stonestreet Fifth Ridge.  The wine bar also offers 57 wines on its “by the glass” list.

The business is open Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and 10 a.m. to midnight Thursday through Saturday.

We have not gone to the Bar.  If you go to the Purple Grape let us know if it is a good place to visit.
