This may be a fun event to watch at Panama City Beach, FLfrom October 3-5. The Super Boat Florida National Championship race returns to Panama City Beach for its third year the weekend of October 3-5, 2008. Produced by Super Boat International Productions, Super Boat’s exciting festivities take place all weekend at the event’s Race Village based in Pier Park East on Front Beach Road.
Super Boat Racing is not just about those sleek and fast machines, but about the thrill seeking souls who get behind the helm of the 4,800 HP monsters. The fans will get to see the nation’s biggest, fastest offshore powerboats and top drivers race toward a National Championship title. The race course is three miles, from the Dan Russell City Pier to the M.B. Miller County Pier, on Sunday, October 5th at 12:00 noon.
On Friday, October 3rd the Dry Pits at Race Village will be open to the public, and guests are invited to view the super boats on display and visit the race teams. That evening the Racer’s Party takes place at Sharky’s Seafood Restaurant on Front Beach Road (event open to the public).
On Saturday, October 4th the Dry Pits are open again. Race Practice takes place all afternoon, with super boats racing between the County and City Piers on the Gulf of Mexico. That evening the Racer’s Party takes place at Margaritaville at Pier Park (event open to the public).
On Sunday, October 5th the Super Boat Parade begins at 11:00am on St. Andrews Bay, from Marina Landing Condominiums to the Gulf of Mexico. At 12:00 noon the race begins, starting and finishing from Sharky’s Seafood Restaurant on Front Beach Road, and moving between the County and City Piers. At 5:00pm the Awards Ceremony takes place at Sharky’s Seafood Restaurant (open to the Public).
