Panama City Beach – Bay County commissioners voted today 4-1 to give the TDC its 5th cent bed tax to use for luring in a low-cost air carrier. The tax increased from 3% to 5%. One percent appears to be geared to attracting a new airline to start service into the new Bay County International Airport and the other 1% to increase tourist traffic.
I am not sure when the increase is effective but I will let you know. For now the 5th cent tax will sunset after five years.
Let’s hope it works. Low cost fares into PCB will be sweet!
