PANAMA CITY BEACH — The Empty Stocking Fund is getting fuller and fuller. The staff at Best Panama City Condo Rentals www.bestpanamacitybeachcondo.com supports the Empty Stocking Fund. Thanks to The News Herald, Bill Cramer Chevrolet and everyone for supporting the fund.
Wednesday, the Bill Cramer family and Bill Cramer Chevrolet donated $10,000 for the annual fundraising effort that benefits The Salvation Army. The organization buys enough toys, food and other gifts for more than 2,000 families. “We’re happy to contribute again to the Empty Stocking Fund. It’s been a tradition for 27 years now,” Bill Cramer said. It’s been “a tough time for our economy and we felt that we had an ability to do a little bit extra this year” and help more people, he said.
With $212,305 in donations, the Empty Stocking Fund has passed this year’s fund raising goal of $175,000. Cramer said he was “excited but not surprised by the continuing generosity of our community year after year.”
The fundraiser is sponsored by Bill Cramer Chevrolet and The News Herald.
Though the goal has been met, donations can still be made. Donations can be mailed to: The Empty Stocking Fond, c/o The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 540, Panama City, FL 32402; or The News Herald, P.O. Box 1940, Panama City, FL 32402. Donations can also be dropped off at The News Herald, 501 W. 11th St.
