Panama City Beach – Shipwreck Island Waterpark

Panama City Beach – are you visiting the Best Panama City Beach Condo Rentals at Celadon Beach Resort http://www.bestpanamacitybeachcondo.com  in addition to fun times on the beach you might consider an afternoon at Shipwreck Island Water Park.

Shipwreck Island Waterpark has served Panama City Beach for 30 years with families spending t many a’ summer day splashing, playing and sliding.

“It’s almost like we’re being rediscovered by the visitors to Panama City Beach as well as the many wonderful lodging facilities. Some people may have thought that Shipwreck Island went away when Miracle Strip Park was sold. This year the momentum and excitement has grown so rapidly that we’ve had to make some adjustments in how we operate. Our Facebook page is growing by leaps and bounds, and has around 21,000 friends with no slowing down in sight.” ~ Buddy Wilkes, GM

Just a couple weeks ago, they commemorated their big anniversary with a huge sale of season passes for just $69/per. This included a rather sweet coupon book that had a large variety of sweet deals like 30 cent refills and drastically discounted snacks.

Something special for Summer 2012

Now the park is promoting seven day passes to be provided in packages through local accommodations on the beach. The passes will allow visitors to hit the beach in the morning and do Shipwreck in the afternoon, or vice versa. A pass that is good for seven days in a row can provide numerous mini visits, and guests can go and come as they want all week long. It’s like having a season pass just for your week at Panama City Beach. New Attraction for 2012 too!

The Pirate’s Race is the newest attraction which was added to the park this year. It features two twisting waterslides that lets moms and dads challenge their little ones to see who splashes into the pool first. Shipwreck Island is open every day from 10:30 a.m. until about 5:00 p.m. through August 12. The park will be open on weekends after that until Labor Day weekend.

Panama City Beach – Grills Gone Wild Returns November 18-19, 2011

PANAMA CITY BEACH – The scent of barbeque cooking will be in the air Nov.
18-19 at Gulf Coast State College, when Grills Gone Wild returns to Panama
City.  Gulf Coast State College is not too far from the Best Panama City Beach Condo Rentals at Celadon Beach Resort  http://www.bestpanamacitybeachcondo.com.

For all those wanting to join the grillers in the competition the first
day, the fee will be $100 (includes meat). The fee will be waived for those who
bring their own meat. Grillers will be asked to cook or grill 300 servings of
their favorite dish to be served at the “swine tasting” for the public.  I like to cook on a Big Green Egg.  No way to cook for 300 on an egg so I guess I
will pass on the competition.

Arm bands will be sold for $10 each.  You will be able to wander around and taste the different meats while listening to music by Shawn Rader, the 4th Street Band and bluegrass. The Friday festivities are from 6:30-10 p.m.

“We used to try to serve meals, but that didn’t work out financially,” said
Alan Graham, broker associate for Counts Real Estate, which sponsors the grill
event. “This year, we will sell whole racks of ribs and pork butts.”

The pork butts will be $30, and the whole rack of ribs will be $25.

“I do it for the charities here in Panama City, and it’s barbeque; I love
doing that,” said Justin Tatem, a returning contestant and a grill master for
Tater’s BBQ.

Saturday will start early as all the contestants usually slow roast
barbeque all night long. There will be a 5K hog jog starting at 7 a.m., the
exact route of which has not been determined, and a car show. The judging will
take place after these events, and all will be finished by 1 p.m. Saturday.

The grilloff is a charity event, and all proceeds will go to Anchorage
Children’s Home, The Rescue Mission, St. Andrews Baptist Medical Clinic, Beach Care Services, Gulf Coast State College and Arnold High School.

If you would like to participate in the grilling, call any Counts Real Estate office
at 850-249-3615.
